Job Description

The Housekeeping Attendant will be responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms and public areas to a consistently high standard, ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests at all times. This role plays a key part in delivering the immaculate presentation and attention to detail that reflects commitment to genuine hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning, to company standards.
• Replenish guest amenities, linen, and supplies in line with brand standards.
• Clean and maintain public areas, corridors, and common spaces to a high standard of presentation.
• Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards identified during room or area servicing.
• Handle guest belongings and lost property with care, following company procedures.
• Restock housekeeping trolleys and storage areas with required supplies and linen.
• Follow correct procedures for the use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests related to housekeeping.
• Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, folding, and distributing linen, as required.
• Support the Housekeeping Supervisor with stocktaking and inventory checks.
• Work efficiently to meet room turnaround times, particularly during busy check-in periods.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in a housekeeping, cleaning, or similar role is preferred but not essential; strong entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently and manage time well to meet room turnaround targets.
• Physical capability to perform housekeeping duties, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, guest-focused approach.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team.
• Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors.
• A genuine commitment to quality, cleanliness, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Experience Requirements

• 2–3 years of prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or a similar role is preferred.

Benefits

• Competitive salary of AUD $50,000–$65,000 per annum, commensurate with skills, qualifications and relevant experience. The salary package is negotiable for highly experienced and exceptional candidates.
